Who Has Access to Clean Drinking Water?

While researching I came upon this image that compared different countries and the percentage of access that they have to clean drinking water. This information is was taken in 2004 but I am sure that the numbers have not changed drastically. It is interesting to me that so many countries have so much more access to clean drinking water than other countries in the same region. Just as I thought the U.S. is the country with the most access to clean drinking water almost 50% more than Romania. Romania is not really a developing country so the fact that we have more than 50% more access to clean drinking water is shocking. This makes me wonder why the U.S. says that they help third world countries and yet there is still such a large number of communities without access to clean drinking water. Where does all that help go? I think that this question may never be answered. All I can do is keep researching and try to figure out how this issue can be addressed more clearly. This graph just made it much easier to really look at some of the regions of the world and actually see where there is clean drinking water and where there isn’t. It gave me a lot of information very easily.
