When choosing my topic to research I thought about something that was truly a issue and I was concerned with. People lacking clean drinking water is a world-wide issue. Everyone should be able to drink safe and clean water daily. Starting my blog was not all that easy. I had trouble figuring out how to publish the actual essay, adding pictures, following people and many other problems and I am still having trouble but, it is coming along much better than when I first started. As you may have noticed my very first blog was a failure and the structure was not correct. I was every confused about how to do anything with the program. But my second attempt was much more successful, I was able to add a picture and make an attempt to look more professional. I am currently having trouble finding information about my topic. There is much information out there but unfortunately not much of it works for me. It doesn’t help me prove or disprove my research and that has made it very difficult for me to deal with. Having to read through essays and articles not knowing if the information that is in it will work for me or not. If it does not help me I have to continue to do the same thing until I find something, anything, that can help further my research.
Through this process I believe that I have become better at researching and finding information. This is something that I was not very good at before this blog began. With all the information there is out there I have also learned to distinguish they good from the not so good information or the credible and non credible. Learning to analyze what the essay and articles give me is also a skill that I have developed through this very long process. My feeling toward my topic are all over the place I have realized that unfortunately this is an issue that may never be solved and I wonder what will happen in years to come. Will there even be any clean drinking water in developed countries? I can at times be an arbitrary person and may have in a way maligned about America. I know realize that in a way there are people doing whatever they can to help people in small communities. It is just something that needs time to know what will happen. All I can say is that we need to stop wasting water and realize that it may not last forever and if it doesn’t, then what?

A Taste Of Heaven
Our world provides so many resources for all of humanity but yet there are people who still do not have access to these resources. Researchers have found that many countries do not have access to clean drinking water and sanitation facilities. This issue is the root to many diseases, hunger, and economic struggles of countries. Living in America people do not realize how fortunate they are to have access to clean water at any time they please. Why are there so many countries without access to clean drinking water? It is America’s job to help countries who do not have access to clean drinking water which is also used for agricultural advancements. While there are people wasting money on unimportant things there are people who are starving and sick that can use the money to bring clean drinking water to their developing communities. This issue has not been looked at in a serious way and its time that it is confronted and ,if possible, solved.
“1.8 billion people who have access to a water source within 1 kilometer, but not in their house or yard, consume around 20 liters per day. In the United Kingdom the average person uses more than 50 liters of water a day flushing toilets (where average daily water usage is about 150 liters a day. The highest average water use in the world is in the US, at 600 liters day.)” says Poverty Facts and Stats written by Anup Shah. Why can’t we use some of that water for others around the world? If America is always doing something to help the world, why has lack of clean water not decreased as much as it should be? There are so many people who would die for a drink of pure water and in America ,people who have pure water coming out of their faucets, go out and buy bottled water simply because they do not like the taste. What does water taste like? To people who are less fortunate it tastes as if they were in heaven. People in America need to be less mercenary and give to the communities that are not able to prosper out of such horrifying situations. They need to realize that the water coming out of their faucet, which they do not wish to drink, could be used to make food to feed a baby. Water is becoming scarce and this is only going to escalate until we eventually run out.
“A billion people in the world will never have a clean drink of water. There are 2.5 billion people in the world without toilet facilities. That kind of deprivation isn’t even on our radar in the U.S..” says Matt Damon one of the many people helping to decrease lack of clean water and sanitation facilities in third world countries. While people in America and around the world take long baths and waste water running down the faucet that water could be used to save lives and provide food for those less fortunate. Living in America we have so many luxuries that we forget that there are others in the world who have never had a clean drink of water. “It’s plentiful, inexpensive and of course safe-just as it should be. Its easy to forget that a large chunk of the worlds population (currently ~6.77 billion) isn’t so lucky.” states Dr. Kristen Kerksiek in an article called Dying For Clean Water. How unbelievable it is that after having access to so much information we still have never come upon such striking facts. Clean water is a luxury that not very many people see in a lifetime. As Americans we need to help provide that first drink of heaven.

Views on Clean Drinking Water
My issue is something that effects people all throughout the world. People are always trying to work harder to decrease the number of people without access to clean drinking water. The fact that this is something that effects many people and occurs all over the world not many people oppose helping communities that do not have clean drinking water. On the contrary there are more and more people each day trying to come up with more and more ways to decrease this issue. But, even though there are many people helping reduce the number of people without access to clean drinking water, there are still people who do not realize how important it is to keep our water clean. These people are all over the world not just in small communities but even here in America. There are companies that dispose of their waste, that includes dangerous chemicals, into local water supplies. These chemicals lead to painful rashes and enamel being eaten away. As is says in an article written by Rob Perks "How can we get digital cable and internet in our homes, but not clean water?" said Mrs. Hall-Massey a senior accountant at one of the state's largest banks. This is something that many people think does not occur in America but as we can see it does. Should we not have to be able to help ourselves first and then others? Many people acclaim those people who go to other countries and provide clean water for them but what about the problems that our own country has with this issue? Not many people oppose helping provide clean water but we have to encounter the fact that communities in America do not have access to clean water before anything else.
